Laughables & Wine Glasses

Ever had one of those weeks where you really need some funnies to keep you going? I've had a week of that sort, and my discovery of "Dear Blank, Please Blank" (http://www.dearblankpleaseblank.com/) really has me snickering in my chair.

Consider this the new "FML" or "Texts From Last Night."

If you still don't know what I'm talking about, you're probably not a college student.

Some of my favorites from dearblankpleaseblank.com:

Dear Facebook,
Please stop changing, my mom can't keep up.
Sincerely, sick of teaching Mom how to do wall posts

Dear margins, footnotes and double spacing,
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Sincerely, barely made that one!

Dear creators of Sesame Street,
Kids are still fat. Can I come back now?
Sincerely, Cookie Monster

Dear people in workout videos,
Jokes on you.
Sincerely, just sitting on the couch.

Dear cereal part in Lucky Charms,
Please get out of my bowl of marshmallows.
Sincerely, it tastes like the box it came in.

Dear perfect man,
Welcome to the club!
Sincerely, Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny and The Tooth Fairy

Dear Taylor Swift,
Call me when you need something that rhymes with Gyllenhaal.
Sincerely, Dr. Seuss

Dear shoppers,
We don't give you a flashlight because we don't want you to see the prices.
Sincerely, Hollister

See? Hysterical, right?

Now, go look for yourselves. You're welcome.

bLyss Designs was a busy business last night. I finished up a few orders for Chelsea and Alyssa, and here's a preview:
Alyssa ordered this beauty to use as a gift with a bottle of Little Black Dress wine! How creative is she?
Chelsea's momma "Ursie the Nursie" reps the big "Med Lakes," and I'm hoping she loves this gift!
everything's better with a little sparkle, no?
introducing, margarita glasses! "I Need A 'Rita!"
In other good news, I get my baby back today! Tonight will be night #4 in crate training, and Chloe's struggling a little.
after 5 p.m. tonight, you're mine, Chloe.

bLyssful THANK yous!

I have to thank Julie for the bLyss Designs shoutout she gave me on my birthday this past Saturday on her blog. She must have known I needed some more traffic to the bLyss etsy site. ;)

Julie's Wine-O glass. and I still have one for sale!
While I'm at it, I should thank all my great friends who have been helping me make this business finally successful. After all of my Christmas orders, I'm finally out of the red and making money on my wine glasses! It's amazing how accomplished it can make you feel when you can turn a hobby into a moneymaker.
Jill's beer mugs with the Irish flag
THANK YOU, THANK YOU to my etsy buyers, Kristie, Anastasia, Chelsea, Jill, Alyssa, Amy, Momma, Maggie, Michelle, Lisa-Marie, Maria, and Lauren. And anyone I may have forgotten. Ya'll are AWESOME!
this one was for Salisbury's veterinarian, Rebecca!
(and Maria, Mich, Chels, Alyssa, and Amy - yours are coming soon, promise!)

the beach glass.. see the sandy bottom? :)
Remember, most of my designs I don't even put on etsy. The site has been more of an exemplary site for my buyers, who for the most part request personalized designs with special colors. I'll try almost anything... I've even made a pink John Deere tractor beer mug for somebody!

monogrammed glass
Annnd, now debuting, bLyss CANDY dishes!

for his birthday, my dad asked for a Sno Caps candy dish.
I fashioned it like the candy box.
gooo terrapins! I was pretty proud of my Maryland "M" on the base of this one.
Apologies for the incredibly cruddy quality of these photos. I still can't find my camera, and as you can tell by my pictures these past few weeks, I'm lost without it.  :(
one zebra for sale!
So here's another sales pitch - they make awesome gifts, I do martini glasses, wine glasses, beer glasses and mugs, margarita glasses (if I can find them in stores), candy dishes and anything I can find in glass. Keep that business comin', 'cause I'd love to make something for you!

Wacky, Tacky Christmas Celebrations

When the Tacky Christmas Party was planned, everyone geared up to dress their craziest.

Just hangin' out in our Christmas best...
Check!
don't be jealous of our rockin' style.
Yes, I am wearing a Christmas onesie. It was a Christmas tradition for my grandmother, Mamoe, to give all the little grandchildren matching pajamas each Christmas. Since I'm the only unwed grandchild over the age of 8, I don't get to match everyone else anymore, so last year I picked myself out this fab onesie.

The party punch was a success to say the least. And we had fun being tacky crazy people all Saturday night.
doesn't Cynthia look like she's attending an 80s office party?
Life has been cuh-razy, and I can hardly remember the last time I had a lazy Sunday.

Enter... yesterday, a.k.a., a bLyss Designs workshop day.

I set up shop and cranked out about 8 wine glasses in one day!  I still have a bunch of finishing touches to make, but I am happy with my completion of Christmas Orders.

one of the many finished products!
Personalized orders are my favorite to make, and I had lots of 'em!  I can't wait for my friends who ordered these to give these glasses to their friends.

Plus, ABC Family was generous enough to provide me with a full-day Harry Potter marathon.  What more could a girl ask for? :)

Happy Monday to all!
